The Commercial Pilot Licence Groundschool is a requirement for the Commercial Pilot Licence. At least 80 hours of groundschool is required and approximately 60 of these are directly taught in the RFC classroom. In order to complete the 80 hours, additional supervised work is allocated and must be done by the student. The information in this section contains references for the course, homework and quizzes required from each student.
The topics that may appear on the examination are listed in Transport Canada Publication TP 12881E and every student is recommended to download this and keep a printed copy to ensure that all topics are covered during the groundschool.
The Private Pilot Licence Groundschool is a requirement for the Private Pilot Licence. Transport Canada requires that a student attend at least 40 hours of groundschool. However, it is our experience that this is inadequate to cover all of the topics that have to be taught and the Rockcliffe groundschool is approximately 60 hours long. The topics that may appear on the examination are listed in Transport Canada Publication TP 12880 and every student is recommended to download this and carry a printed copy to ensure that all topics are covered during the groundschool.
This section provides IFR training resources for flight instructors and for students.
This is a sample course for anyone who is interested in participating as a student or instructors offering the course to their students. A sample of an actual lesson can be downloaded and the actual lesson on the internet will be scheduled on demand.
The Rockcliffe Flying Club is pleased to offer this application to its members to facilitate learning at all levels. It will be a work in progress forever, and our plans are to include:
- a place to ask questions relating to Aviation (and get answers, we hope!)
- resources for students studying PPL, IFR.
- tests and homework for students to assess their own progress towards their learning objectives
- self-taught groundschools for those whose schedule doesn't fit ours.
